Pathological Positivity is a podcast from Dr. Paul Jenkins. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and the choices you have. For questions, write to us through the contact page or email support@positives.life.

What we collect on this site

  • What you send us.If you use the contact or guest form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, and we keep them so Dr. Paul's office can reply. If you apply to be a guest, we also receive your website or social link, your talking points and why you fit the show, and we keep and review them to decide whether to invite you.
  • Basic usage data.We load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics (visits, pages viewed, episode plays and which links bring people here), the Meta (Facebook) pixel, and ActiveCampaign site tracking (to recognize people who are already on our email list). These use cookies and similar technology, and they send visit data to Google, Meta and ActiveCampaign. When you send a contact or guest form, we also keep the page you sent it from and your browser's user-agent text (browser and device type), and, to limit abuse, a keyed hash of your IP address, never the address itself.
  • The free Power Pack. The sign-up form is hosted by Positives at positives.life. What you give there is covered by the Positives Privacy Policy.

How we use it

To answer your messages, run and improve the show and this site, and understand which episodes help people. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it or trade it.

Who else handles it

Service providers that run the site for us, such as our hosting, database and email delivery providers, may use the data only to provide their service to us. Google, Meta and ActiveCampaign, which receive the analytics and tracking data described above, handle it under their own privacy policies and may also use it for their own purposes, such as improving their products and personalizing content and ads; see the Google, Meta and ActiveCampaign notices. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

YouTube API Services

We run a small internal tool that publishes Pathological Positivityepisodes and clips to Dr. Paul Jenkins's own YouTube channel, and reads that channel's analytics for his own reporting. It is used only by the channel's owner and the team that works for him. It is not offered to the public, and it has no other users.

What we access. With the channel owner's permission we use the YouTube API Services to upload videos to his channel, read the channel's own video list and details, and read its own analytics (views, watch time, traffic sources and similar totals). We do not access or collect data about viewers as individuals.

How we use it. To publish his videos, to measure how his episodes and clips perform, and to decide what to make next. We do not sell this data, do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to anyone except as needed to run the tool or as the law requires.

How long we keep it. Raw data pulled from the YouTube API is deleted or refreshed within 30 days. We keep only the summary numbers the reports need.

Google's terms. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. By using YouTube features connected to this tool, the channel owner also agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access. The channel owner can withdraw the tool's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once access is revoked we stop calling the API, and we delete any stored credentials and remaining API data within 30 days at the latest. If you ask us directly to delete your YouTube data, we delete the copy we store as soon as possible and within 7 days. This does not affect data stored by YouTube itself; to remove that, use YouTube or another authorized client. To ask, write to support@positives.life.

Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@positives.life. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and out of Meta ads personalization in your Facebook ad settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
